Norah M. Kam Holford - Artist

About
Norah M. Kam Holford (1916-1990) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, before teaching and lecturing in art at schools, and at the Froebel Educational Institute until the 1950s. Norah also lived, travelled, and painted in Europe in the 1930s and 1940s, settling in Kent until the 1970s. She continued to paint and draw throughout her life, leaving a remarkable body of work: reviews from her previous exhibitions describe her as ‘an artist of immense depth.’

Many of Norah's paintings were completed during periods of mental ill health and psychoanalytic treatment in the 1960s, which can be seen reflected in much of her later work.

Norah's art collection remains in the care of her surviving family, with works curated by her granddaughter.
